Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Bay Minette team is seeking an EMS/ Security CoordinatorThe EMS/Security Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs that ensure the safety, security, and emergency preparedness of the facility. This role also oversees contractor compliance with site policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory and company standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Develop policies, protocols and procedures in coordination with the Novelis Global Security team.
  • Provide oversight to the third-party security personnel and work with their supervisor to ensure all protocols and procedures are being followed.
  • Manage and maintain security systems, including access control, video surveillance (CCTV), and alarm systems.
  • Support planning and coordination of emergency response drills and exercises.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with local emergency services (fire, police, EMS).
  • Develop and maintain the facility’s Emergency Response Plan (ERP)
  • Coordinate and assist with emergency drills (fire, severe weather, active threat, etc.) and evaluate effectiveness.
  • Manage contractor onboarding, orientation, and training.
  • Maintain contractor documentation, including insurance, permits, and safety plans.
  • Serve as point of contact for contractor-related issues and partner concerns.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with safety, security, and environmental policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Occupational Safety, or related field
  • 3+ years in emergency management, security, or contractor oversight in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency preparedness and security principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of security technologies (access control, CCTV)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and security/emergency management software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FEMA ICS/NIMS, CPR/First Aid, OSHA 30, or similar certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Occupational Safety, or related field

Location Profile

Novelis' newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
