Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Novelis Davenport, Iowa team is seeking a Storeroom Coordinator. This role is responsible for Store Function along with proper upkeep of storerooms, Goods Receipts, Goods Issue, Inventory Optimization, Inventory Cycle Count and Adjustment and reordering of store Min Max items. The position will be responsible for Davenport’s two locations and the Lincolnshire, IL facility.

The Storeroom Coordinator must continually evaluate and improve EHS performance, 5S in stores, lube room inventory, operational supplies. Always maintain the storerooms to an “inspection ready” level that optimizes space, reduces search times, avoids EHS incidents, and preserves the life of the parts and promote good housekeeping practices

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the Reliability & Maintenance manager, which includes reducing safety risks, optimizing inventory, and developing staff.
  • Promote EHS policy, implement the EHS management system and ensure continual improvement of EHS performance in day-to-day operations.
  • Improve, manage, and sustain the Kitting process to promote efficient work management.
  • Work with EHS to ensure proper disposal of parts/ components/ paints / batteries etc. as per OSHA guidelines.
  • Establish safe work practice and procedure in the stores department.
  • Always maintain storeroom to an “inspection ready” level and promote good housekeeping practices.
  • Seeking to continuously improve processes, systems, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for facilitating the requisition process in both Oracle and Coupa, including clarifying needs with internal requestors, and sending RFQ’s to vendors.
  • Provide timely and professional follow-up, and communication on delivery delays and interruptions that could impact internal and external customer work timelines.
  • Facilitating the repairable spare parts process by monitoring the repair parts racks, determining warrantability of parts, and acquiring RMAs
  • Create and manage parts records in IMA and EAM CMMS systems for both stock and non-stock parts.
  • Manage routine cycle counting and inventory management of MRO storeroom to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Manage vendor relationships and Vendor Managed inventory (VMI) programs.
  • Update and manage MRO store KPI’s ensuring we meet targets.
  • Supervise and guide the work objectives of the storeroom clerk.
  • Work with buyers to track past due orders and manage any PO changes needed.
  • Preventative and Corrective maintenance spare part identification and procurement.
  • Manage uniform process/policy for Davenport
  • On an as needed basis, work after hours for emergency purchases; work with procurement and use the after-hours hotline

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: specifically, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong Analytical Skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Desire to take initiative and develop proactive relationships with employees through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written); ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Knowledge of Computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS); Oracle, Artist, and Coupa
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, excellent follow-through, and the ability to learn
  • Knowledge of safety, 5S, and lean practices.
  • Ability to coordinate between multiple departments and levels of the organization (I.E. maintenance and procurement teams)

 

  • Ability to work under pressure during emergencies

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Experience using ERP Oracle and Computerized Maintenance Management systems (CMMS).
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Maintenance or Reliability.
  • 10+ years’ Experience in the field of engineering OR management.
  • Working knowledge of bearings, seals, VFDs, filters, pneumatic fittings, etc.
  • Working Knowledge of Material Handling Equipment (I.E. Forklifts, electric pallet Jacks, Cranes, Etc.)
  • Experience with Industrial metal coating and slitting equipment.

Davenport IA has been a key player in the aluminum industry for over 11 decades.
