Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Novelis North America (NNA) Regional Procurement Team is seeking a Procurement Purchasing Strategy Lead. The Purchasing Strategy role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic procurement plans to optimize purchasing functions and drive organizational efficiency. This role involves leading process and redesign initiatives, implementing sophisticated eProcurement technologies, and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless procurement operations and handle change initiatives to improve employee experience. By using innovative technologies and standard processes, the Purchasing Strategy role will give to the overall strategic goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the vision and strategy, to increase efficiencies through process automation and enable the implementation of standardized service delivery models.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and improvement of Purchasing systems used in NNA
  • Research and investigate standard processes and procurement initiatives successfully used at other organizations
  • Assess and determine applicability to Novelis
  • Identify and implement outstanding purchasing processes, procedures and KPI’s.
  • Implement target tools and systems (i.e. eProcurement, Robotics Process Automation, etc.) to improve effectiveness and efficiency in procurement and drive towards outstanding. Work collaboratively to define and detail business requirements, support implementation.
  • Define and maintain Purchasing Approval Workflows for Purchase Orders and Outline Agreements. Support root cause analysis in case of workflow failures.
  • Cultivate use of shared tools to ensure Global view of regional procurement, to enable figuring out leveraging processes, standard methodology, sharing, and general information sharing. Recommend global / regional Source-to-Pay improvement initiatives on processes, master data and trainings
  • Have string business knowledge & systems knowledge
  • Responsible for identifying additional efficiencies that can be driven with the system
  • Responsible for leading the expansion of Coupa across NNA
  • Deliver User Training of Coupa
  • Support the case of Coupa in conjunction with Manager, Purchasing Operations, Finance & IT
  • Define and implement training programs to enable target skills and proficiencies of individuals to support OCM activities, relative to system implementations
  • Build/maintain training curriculums, courses, Job Aids. Leverage uPerform.
  • Collaborate with global/regional Super Users and other functions (i.e. Finance, Supply Chain, IT COE) to ensure that business scenarios are reflected correctly
  • Coordinate and/or deliver training classes for global and regional end users (SAP-PGE PR/PO refresher training, e-Sourcing, e-Catalogs, P2P Platform, others)
  • Assess and develop Digital Readiness of Procurement Organization
  • Responsible for consolidating feedback from NNA Procurement leadership team to submit various monthly, quarterly and annual reporting needs (ie. Monthly Dashboards, SEC 10K, Excellence Certificate, Federal Contracts Reporting, One Procurement Financials reporting, MMOG/LE Submission for Automotive)

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree Business / Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in a procurement environment with understanding of P2P end to end process
  • Strong background in Procurement processes, technology and automation capabilities.
  • Proven efficiency in project management skills and execution
  • Project Management

Preferred Qualities

  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • PMP Certification
  • Lean Six Sigma – Black Belt Certification
  • 5 years’ experience leading and driving sophisticated global critical initiatives
  • Experience in process development, and implementation of Procurement specific technology
  • Experience in leading large scale project teams
  • Experience in leading sophisticated Change Management programs
