This position play a critical role in improving the reliability of our heavy electro-mechanical equipment.  Working in conjunction with operations and other maintenance employees, “A” Electricians assist in troubleshooting systems, coordinating project work and maintaining equipment functionality.  Electricians report to the Associate EMRA Leader- Maintenance.

• Day-to-day maintenance and repairs of a wide range of electromechanical equipment.
• Involvement in project work related to productivity improvement and equipment reliability.
• Be able to work independently to maintain, repair, adjust or recalibrate complex electrical, and electronic equipment, controls and instrumentation.
• Must be able to work outside trade as the need and their abilities permit.
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision on a complete range of electrical, electronic and instrumentation equipment within the plant.
• Must be able to organize and supervise less skilled craftsperson on specific jobs.
• Must be able to take a proactive stance on safety matters whether personal or third party nature.
• Perform visual inspection of key equipment and components.
• Identify, prioritize, and schedule major outage projects.
• Develop measures for improved performance.
• Use of SAP is critical to write work orders and purchase requisitions.
• Provide support in the aluminum manufacturing process by working closely with the Operations, Engineering, Administrative, and Process Groups.
• Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise for equipment and systems problems to maintenance and
• Work with maintenance group to provide technical expertise
• Attend morning area meeting for communication of area needs
• Work with process owners to develop solutions to process issues and perform data collection to determine proper course of action
• Work with project leaders to collect data necessary for proper analysis and determination of issues to target

Novelis’ Berea facility is located in Berea Kentucky near Lexington. With 150 employees the recycling facility processes approximately 20 percent of all aluminum cans recycled in the United States each year – more than 750 million pounds.
