The Novelis North America Bay Minette Technical team is looking for a Technical Process Leader to be located at our new facility in Bay Minette, Alabama. This complex and highly technical role will lead our customer qualification in all markets. Additionally, this candidate will be fully integrated with the commercial team and customers to translate customer needs to the Bay Minette facility. This position will report to the Technical Manager. 

Responsibilities: 

• Be a role model for safety; demonstrating behaviors that align with the Novelis Safety Absolutes and Safety Principles to build a zero-injury culture.
• Lead, mentor and develop a group of Novelis engineers in support of all customer issues relating to low performance of can line facilities or Novelis product.
• Facilitate external support of Novelis Technical Service to improve the knowledge of Novelis Bay Minette staff relating to production process, quality issues and performance.
• Act as the Novelis technical representative for customers, relating to quality and performance product issues.
• Communicate customer's needs with Novelis staff to maintain positive customer interactions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or related field; Metallurgical engineering preferred
• 5+ years in process and product development, engineering, materials, and production processes; experience in aluminum rolling process preferred
• Experience in resource/people management, laboratory environment & industrial metrology
• Must possess leadership skills to direct, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate objectives.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.
• Ability to organize and prioritize feature work; must be able to lead multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail.
• Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Solid computer skills with software applications proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Ability to learn new software programs quickly.
