Novelis Bay Minette has an exciting opportunity for a Training Coordinator! A successful candidate for the Training Coordinator position will be responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of the training plans for the Bay Minette facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preemployment scheduling and coordination of candidate assessments 
• Coordination and facilitation of new hire orientation on a monthly basis 
• Identification and delivery of training needs and the coordination of training and assessment activities
• Participate in gap analysis within each department 
• Facilitate effective communication within the unit - goals and objectives, performance measures, practices and procedures
• Collaborate with the Human Resources team to identify training needs and trends
• Develop and foster plant-wide systems for organizational development. This includes direct involvement in all phases of change management, strategic planning, implementation, integration and auditing
• Assist development of and support EHS plant policies and organization development
• Work with end users, providers and corporate to provide transparent services from the systems being supported inclusive of innovative, flexible reporting and data handling
• Support Learning Lead in the reimbursement processes associated with offsite travel expenditures
• Maintaining the LMS database to ensure trainings and certifications are captured correctly 
• Assist in the management of external vendors to include scheduling, attendence documentation, and follow up evaluations related to specified trainings 
• Assist in the execution of training plans related to individual work centers
• Collaborate with other Novelis plant locations to address offsite training needs
• Collaborate effectively with mill leadership to ensure team members are receiving appropriate training support

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an adult based training setting 
• Previous experience in manufacturing 
• Experience in Learning Management Systems
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
• Personal traits should include the ability to utilize human relation skills to motivate, train, understand, and develop others to attain the objectives
• Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with employees through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail
• Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced and demanding environment
• Solid computer skills with software applications proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to learn new software programs quickly

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree 
• Human resources experience
• Previous experience designing training programs
• Previous experience conducting skills, gap analysis 
• Previous experience in facilitation

Novelis' newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing.
