What awaits you:

The position coordinates the implementation, development and sustaining of Novelis Operating System (NOS) in a Novelis small plant (less than 500 employees) to improve its operational performance in alignment with Focused 5.

The incumbent is also responsible for supporting and coaching the plant leadership on the adoption of WCM (NOS) as its only management system, improving the performance though the eradication of losses with the engagement of 100% of the employees

WCM (NOS) is a management system that encompasses Total Quality, TPM and Lean/6 Sigma practices in a systemic approach focused on the identification, measurement, eradication and prevention of losses. It is based on the involvement and empowerment of operational teams starting from operators at shop floor, allowing them to be fully accountable for delivering results 24/7.

The Novelis Operating System that will define the way we operate our plants at the highest operational standards and performance levels.

This position leads the program implementation and its sustainability at the plant level, in close coordination with the Plant Manager, the plant leadership and NOS Regional Manager.

To achieve this goal, the incumbent is expected to:

• Ensure the standard execution of WCM (NOS) in her/his plant according to the program guidelines.
• Support the Plant Manager and her/his team in the program implementation, providing guidance, coaching and advice.
• Support and facilitate the Plant WCM (NOS) Steering Committee meetings.
• Be an expert resource in developing WCM (NOS) and achieving ongoing accreditation improvements, Route Map, methodological standards, business processes and training.
• Lead one of the plant’s pillars.
• Coordinate the WCM (NOS) activities among the plant pillars, the local functions and the steering committee.
• Develop and validate the plant WCM (NOS) masterplan and monitor its execution.
• Support the plant Steering Committee on the target definitions, loss intelligence process and improvement teams launch.
• Monitor program results in the plant and report it to the Steering Committee; implement action plans to eliminate deviations and ensure continuous progress.
• Interact with the WCM (NOS) Regional Coordinator to report progress, eliminate blockers, escalate issues and align on standards.

The Novelis Latchford plant a suburb of Warrington Cheshire in England employs approximately 200 employees. It is one of Europe’s largest aluminium used beverage cans recycling plants and Europe’s largest closed-loop recycling operation for automotive aluminium rolled products with an annual recycling capacity of up to 195000 tonnes. The plant is an essential part of Novelis’ European production and collaborated with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) to create the first closed-loop system in Europe with a dedicated railway service to efficiently deliver aluminium between Novelis and JLR’s production site in the UK.

The Latchford plant is committed to its community in supporting math and science education to local schools as well as sharing the value of safety and works with a local charitable foundation to sponsoring health. In addition Novelis UK supports the program “Every Can Counts” to actively promote can recycling across Europe.
