Position Overview

The Novelis North America (NNA) team is seeking a Senior Technical Service Representative, Beverage Packaging. The Senior Technical Service Representative, Beverage Packaging position has the primary responsibilities of providing leadership and direction to Novelis by functioning as the Voice of the Customer to Novelis Beverage Packaging Value Stream and the Voice of Novelis Business to our customers, problem solving with Novelis production facilities and customers for the can body stock and can end stock market.

 

Responsibilities

  • Align with EHS guidelines while performing Novelis business at customer locations, while traveling, or at Novelis production facilities. Safety First!
  • Functioning as the single point of accountability for Novelis material support at assigned customer locations.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction to ensure Novelis market-share and pricing is maintained. Supporting metrics for customer satisfaction feedback.
  • Establishing cooperative relationships with customers and Novelis production facilities.
  • Provide Technical Service to assigned customer locations routinely, during product trials, troubleshooting & issue investigation, along with process & product improvement, etc.
  • Functioning as the single point of accountability for all complaints from assigned customer locations.
  • Manage internal trials, process changes, and process simplification with our customer base as a Voice of the Business, while controlling cost.
  • Serving as Novelis point of communication for customer issues to Novelis corporate, Novelis production facilities, Novelis technical facilities (NGRTC), and our customers.
  • To continue development of the Technical Services team by fostering knowledge sharing opportunities with the more experienced team members.
  • The ability to analyze material properties, submitted sample analysis, customer returns investigation for root cause / corrective action relating to customer issues, communicating to the customer the Novelis corporate or production facility follow-up.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Business, or other analytical field, and / or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a large complex manufacturing environment, preferably aluminum, casting, rolling and / or recycling.
  • Stamping and Blanking knowledge/background preferred. Along with knowledge of aluminum manufacturing process.
  • This role will require extensive travel at times to Novelis sites, but more specifically to various assigned customer locations.
  • Working understanding and practical application with aluminum alloys preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing process and business policy and practices preferred
  • Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Proven track record of success and expanded responsibility within a growing and complex organization
  • Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Matrix organization experience
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail
  • SAP Experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and independently.
  • Proven problem-solving skills: mastery of Structured Corrective Action Process: 8D
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; along with the ability to communicate appropriately to peers, operators, and senior managers. A willingness to take a leadership role within work team.
