The Novelis Fairmont facility is hiring! The controllership team, located in Fairmont, West Virgina, is seeking an accountant. The accountant reports to the Plant Controller and is responsible for the month-end close process, including the preparation of month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Additionally, the Accountant will be responsible for various other accounting related projects as needed.

Responsibilities:
• Posts or verifies Journal Entries during the monthly close process. Numerous B.S. and I.S. reconciliations. Monthly sales and use tax report preparation.
• Accurately and timely record additions and capitalizations out of CIP. Leads periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets. Responsible for the accurate identification, accounting, and reporting of fixed assets.
• Tracks company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations. Forecasts timing of capital spend throughout the fiscal year.
• Lead and organize yearly metal physical inventory count. Reconcile count to book balance.
• Generate month end labor reports and process quarterly gainsharing.
• Maintain cost records, systems, and machine hour rates for product costing to ensure correct cost information.
• Reviews all expense coding, report generation, and assists hourly employees where necessary to resolve PO receipt issues.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years documented experience working in a similar function
• BS Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Proficiency in SAP preferred
• Advanced skills in Excel
• Ability to handle a myriad of functions under tight deadlines
• Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
