Process Engineering Intern

Position Overview:

Novelis in Berea, KY has an opportunity to participate in our on-site summer 2025 internship. The team is seeking a Process Engineering Intern that can join the team for approximately 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in relevant work and gain hands on industry experience. The intern will report to the Process Quality Leader and will gain experience in process improvements and data analytics within the recycling and aluminum manufacturing process.  

Responsibilities:

• Work with cross-functional departments on the shop floor to gather data which can result in metal recovery
• Analyze data and design a plan/metric to optimize metal recovery, moving forward
• Gather and analyze data that can lead to consistent chemistry control of molten aluminum batches
• Use various engineering and data management software as needed to yield best results

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University.
• Must be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or recent Graduate.
• Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer students majoring in Metallurgical, Materials, Chemical, Mechanical, or Applied Engineering.
• Students in other related fields may be considered.
• Solid business insight
• High interest in becoming an engineer in a manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills
