Responsibilities & Qualifications

Novelis Davenport, Iowa has an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Engineer! The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the development, implementation and execution of reliability master plans, while also ensuring optimum levels of availability of our assets and maintaining them at the lowest total cost of ownership.

 

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) as specified by the manufacturing unit.
  • Coordinate and/or perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for all significant failures in the manufacturing unit.
  • Use downtime analysis in the development of identifying gaps where engineering solutions to repetitive equipment failures and other equipment problems can be used.
  • The Reliability Engineer will coordinate the development, implementation and review the asset care strategy for each critical asset in the manufacturing unit.
  • Interact with operators, crafts, planners, schedulers, associate leaders and engineers on a regular basis to ensure the effectiveness of the PM / PdM system.
  • Provide administration, control, and analysis of all data, records, and equipment histories to continually review and refine PM frequencies
  • Coordinate and provide training on PdM techniques
  • Development and refinement of the preventive/predictive maintenance program in a systematic manner.
  • Act as the Reliability representative on the new equipment installation and equipment modifications to ensure that full life cycle costing, reliability and maintainability are considered as part of the design.
  • Assist in material number generation for spare parts and hierarchy changes as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree (preferably in an engineering discipline)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in reliability engineering in a manufacturing setting with a preference given to experience as an engineer on capital projects
  • Ability to communicate efficiently both written and orally
  • Certification as a CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) and/or experience with SAP are a plus
