Position Overview

The Information Technology team, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a Data Engineering Manager. As the Manager of Data Services, you would be joining our Global Digital Team (Data Analytics and Insights) and will primarily aid in replacing and establishing the Master Data Management System (MDM); along with the optimization and creation of Data Engineering pipelines by manipulating and aggregating the disparate data sources into a format that is easily digestible by both functional business users, data scientists and statistically adept colleagues. In this position, you will lead the MDM team and will be responsible for managing the data domains related to Vendor Master, Material Master, BOMs (Bill of Materials), Customer Master and other reference data.

  • As the Manager you will be responsible for strategic coordination and leadership activities related to Master Data Management, Data Quality, and integration of MDM data with consuming systems. You will partner with the Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial and other functions to provide key technical solutions for the management of the business data that is aligned with the organization goals and overall business strategy.
  • You will create and implement a Master Data Management roadmap, and plan the implementation of each data domain, create the alignment with the applications and analytics teams for the usage of the data to fit with the business strategy.
  • In your role, you will be the technical expert to architect, design and manage the development of the MDM solution, its integration with enterprise applications and analytics, and ensuing the successful operations after the solution is deployed in production.
  • As the manager and technical expert, you will manage the team of technical experts to create solutions for master data authoring, golden record creation and integration with applications and analytics.
  • You will establish the Data Governance, manage governance team, while working with the business for all the domains of Master Data, Reference and Transaction data.
  • Aiding the governance, you will establish KPIs to monitor and improve the match/merge and improve data quality. You will create and deliver training to the Data Owners and Data Stewards to use the master data applications and workflows.
  • You will establish relationships with the key business and IT stakeholders to continuously review and refine the data requirements needed to meet organizational objectives.

Minimum qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science or similar; a bachelor’s degree with enough relevant work experience is equally good.
  • 10 years of experience in the field of data and analytics with an emphasis on Master Data Management.
  • Strong communications skills to work with the business and IT stakeholders and tell compelling story using data.
  • Proven experience of managing multiple teams where you have a cohort of people reporting to you.
  • Good technical understanding of MDM solution(s) that includes authoring, match/merge, and write-back areas.
  • Strong technical knowledge of MDM tools in the market such as Informatica, Profisee, Atacamma or others.
  • Working experience of Data Governance implementation across multiple data domains
  • Any knowledge on ERP systems integration will help make your case.
  • Passion for data engineering and advanced analytics. Interest in the manufacturing sector is a plus.
