Position Overview:

The Novelis Operations Excellence team is seeking an Operational Excellence Lead. The person in this role will report to the Head of Operational Excellence. The incumbent will help drive the roadmap of operational improvement initiatives supported by the global Ops Excellence team by combining technology, people, and process for the advancement of performance.

Focus is given to execution of the Plant of the Future (POTF). This program covers all digital cases, and we are constantly looking at new technology to either reduce risk (Safety), release capacity and drive an improvement to the bottom line (EBITDA).

Responsibilities:

• Drives the aligned and agreed plan for CMO initiatives specific to POTF projects.
• Project Management and delivery of the POTF programs
• Build organizational capability for POTF.
• Prioritization and management of POTF portfolio
• The role will coordinate across CMO functions and use influence and collaboration to ensure the successful delivery of POTF, OPP, digital programs, and collaborates with WCM. We will achieve this by collaborating, leading and performing all POTF, OPP and digital projects.
• Develops and drives the governance and communication for POTF projects. The Plant Execution Lead delivers the in-plant actions, and Op-Ex delivers the project plan.
• Maintains POTF documentation, project plans, meeting packs, playbooks etc. This is achieved by:
• Project scoping and planning, resource identification and selection, project delivery and project reporting / tracking.
• Applying standardized and consistent project management techniques.
• Supporting efficient issue resolution.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA degree in engineering or related field
• 5+ years of confirmed experience in operations / supply chain management / project management
• 3+ years of experience within a Lean Manufacturing or WCM environment
• Comfortable in communicating at all levels of the organization and ability to influence without direct line of authority.
• Working Knowledge across manufacturing areas like EHS, Productivity, Sustainability, M&R, Supply Chain etc.
• Understanding of Technology related to Industry 4.0, IT Infrastructure, and technology deployment.
• Analytical and strategic, yet highly pragmatic and results-oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of WCM / CI environments.
• Working knowledge and understanding of IT architecture and I4.0 technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related field
