The incumbent is responsible to oversee all aspects of the machine park, operating methods and ensure compliance to all Novelis internal and legal requirements.

Main responsibilities: 

• Confirm compliance to Novelis EHS Standards.
• Create and maintain methods safety risk assessments.
• Consult on new equipment preparation and safe design.
• Guarantee legal compliance.
• Lead unplanned Incident Management.
• Support ISO 45001/14001 compliance.
• Drive EHS culture development.
• Deliver recurring trainings.
• Review Environmental concerns, ensure health and safety at the workplace.
• Drive the Top10 site risks and the people-related risk assessments.

How to convince us: 

• Certified “CFST or “Safety at the workplace” education or equivalent according to Swiss Law standards.
• Minimum 3 years as health and safety specialist in an industry.
• Experience with risk mitigation related to manual processing and handling and storage of chemicals would be a great advantage.
• Strong team spirit in a multicultural environment.
• Excellent communication with the ability to coach others.
• Fluent English and French, German highly beneficial

Novelis’ Sierre is located in the Valais of Switzerland employing around 500 people. It mainly focuses on production of aluminium sheet for the automotive market covering the entire process from casting to finishing. The plant also hosts a world-leading Research & Innovation Center specialized in development of new automotive sheet alloys surface treatment and joining technologies.
