Novelis in Uhrichsville, OH has an opportunity to participate in our on-site summer internship. The team is seeking a Mechanical Engineer intern that can join the team. Novelis internship program will began on May 22, 2023 and will last for 12 weeks, with an end date on August 11, 2023. This will be a project-based hands-on experience. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in meaningful work and gain hands on industry experience. The person in this role will report to the EMRA Leader and will be gaining experience in Mechanical Engineering projects.

• Learn about industrial machinery, mechanical power transmission systems, and pumping systems.
• Provide support for various Mechanical or Reliability Engineering Projects
• Perform Engineering drawing modifications
• Troubleshoot a variety of industrial manufacturing equipment including aluminum rolling lines, mobile equipment, and furnaces
• Work under the supervision of staff engineers to implement latest reliability and maintenance standards to equipment

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an accredited 4 year University
• Must obtain the classification Junior or Senior
• interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer students majoring in Engineering or related fields
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Works well in a team-based environment.
• Familiar with MS Office and AutoCAD products.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.

Opened in 1985 the Uhrichsville facility produces flat rolled aluminum sheet. The rolling mill cold rolls aluminum sheet to a desired gauge anneals to temper levels and slits the rolled sheet to size.
