  • Position Overview

    The Hyperion IT Application Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and tuning of Oracle Hyperion Financial Planning (HFP) and Essbase applications and possess a good working knowledge of Hyperion Financial management (HFM), Financial Data Quality Management Enterprise Edition (FDMEE), and Data Relationship Management (DRM).  Furthermore, the Hyperion IT Application Specialist should be familiar with integrating Hyperion with ERP and other systems, process automation, and web-based reporting.  This position is responsible for providing user training and support for the HFP and Essbase applications.  This position works with IT leadership to identify and address needs in relation to HFP and Essbase applications.  The Hyperion IT Application Specialist is responsible for implementing HFP and Essbase related software upgrades.

    Responsibilities & Qualifications

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborates with IT leadership and designated business users to make improvements to the financial planning process
    • Collaborates with the application support team to administer the Hyperion Planning and Essbase modules. Also works as backup for the Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Financial Data Management Enterprise Edition (FDMEE)
    • Develop, monitor, and maintain security and other Hyperion related artifacts (e.g. substitution variables, etc.) along with: data/web forms, menus, calculation scripts, business rules, dimensions, windows batch scripts, SQL code, MaxL, etc.
    • Recommend and implement enhancements to current HFP and other Hyperion applications to improve application performance and user experience.
    • Identify research, resolve and document technical issues with existing HFP and other Hyperion applications.
    • Collaborate with IT leadership and other project resources for the documentation of business requirements for Hyperion projects, including development and maintenance of project plans.
    • Manage Hyperion Change Manage process to ensure proper approval, testing and migration.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of extensive experience in HFP application development, administration and support required. Proficiency in all aspects of the software capabilities from a technical and support perspective.
    • Extensive experience with Shared Services, Calculation Manager, Hyperion Workspace and Smart View.
    • Solid foundational knowledge of the various components of the Oracle EPM suite of products and how they are integrated with one another (such as HFM, FDMEE, and DRM)
    • Knowledge of Hyperion DRM preferred
    • Experience with general ledger systems, Oracle or SAP preferred, and Microsoft Office including Excel, and Visual Basic for Applications.
    • Experience with Hyperion cloud migration a plus
    • Working knowledge of SQL, VB Scripting or other object-based programming language
    • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
    • Ability to work with business stakeholders across multiple disciplines
    • Ability to work independently and possess good problem solving skills
    • Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Hands on experience with process improvement methodologies
